Man of Sorrows

"...There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief..." Is 53:2-3

"Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death..." Mt 26:38

"that I may come to know him and the power of his resurrection, and partake of his sufferings by being moulded to the pattern of his death" Phil 3:10

Is it possible to know the real Jesus without experiencing his sorrow, loneliness, and pain?

Summer is Over

Summer has come to an end...well, at least summer vacation for my sons is over. They went back to school today. It was kind of hard for me. We had a great summer. It was busy with
a trip to the Midwest,
a vacation to the mountains,
a friend coming to stay,
and multiple short excursions to the beach.
The summer went by fast though. Kids really do grow up quick.
Ya know the old saying, "it's not about how much time but what you do with the time that is important."? That's bunk. Spend quantity time and quality time will happen. Our kids need us. Your kids need you.
There is no greater calling than to be a parent...really.
They're both so different and yet similar and best friends.
Nick is a young man in just a few months he will be 13...wow! He's becoming a leader. Something that was spoken over him by some friends a couple years back while praying. Kim and I have seen it in him for a while now.
Josh on the other hand is so amazingly different. He had the word "warrior" spoken over him, yeah and it's there. He's got a huge heart and it's really soft. He doesn't like seeing people mistreated. I mean it really bothers him. He sees the world thru a set of eyes that I believe few have. It's easy for me (us) to miss or not understand things as he sees them.
Please pray for them and us. Pray that we would raise them well.
Thank you Jesus for these precious gifts.
